I can not believe that this day is here. I’m on my way home, on a bus to NYC, soon to be on a plane back home to good old Norway.
I’m leaving an amazing year behind me. A year filled with experiences, wonderful people, and fantastic food. It’s extremely sad to leave my new life, my new friends and my new family. I have so many people to thank for making my year what it was.

The year has also been hard and challenging, but it’s from the tough moments I learn the greatest lessons. – And I’ve learned a lot! I mean who would have thought that little Juni would ever learn to clean bathrooms and bedrooms or learn to be patient?
I’m so glad I chose to do an exchange year. I’ve learned so much and done more than I ever though was possible. In 10 months I’ve been to 10 new states and two new countries. Here in America I found the beauty of being different, and strength to be nothing but myself. I saw the beauty of diversity, which is what makes America such a wonderful place. I also developed a passion for American fatty food and going home as a 35 pound bigger girl. But it was so worth it with American breakfasts, milkduds and pretzels in my life. It’s 35 good pounds! I will miss everything and there’s no doubt; I’ll be back!
I’ve met so many amazing people on my journey and those people have shape the person I am today. However, I’m not leaving the US as a different person; I’m just leaving as a better version of myself. My world is so much bigger now. – There are no limits.
I started this post by saying I’m sad to leave everything. But the truth is you never leave someone behind; you take a part of them with you and leave a part of yourself behind.
I will always think of West Chester as my home, and the people I met my family
